Monday 13th NOVEMBER @ the Club at Mapledurham, Reading RG4 7UD 7.00 pm Sir Peter Kendall
WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR UK FARMING ?

Sir Peter is without doubt one of the most influential people in UK and international farming over the last 20 years - and continues to be so. He probably needs little introduction – but to recap, he was the President of the NFU for 8 years between 2006 until 2014 and then has served as the President of the World Farmers Organisation and was Chairman of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) between 2014 -19. He was knighted in the 2015 New Year Honours. Sir Peter is a fifth generation arable farmer from Eyeworth in East Bedfordshire. He took a degree in Agricultural Economics at Nottingham University, before returning to a traditional mixed farm in 1984. The farm today is a specialist arable unit, that undertakes contract farming for a number of local farmers, cropping in total 2,300 hectares. He will talk to us about what he sees as the challenges and opportunities currently facing UK farming. To our mind, there is no one better to give an authoritative view on this than Sir Peter. We are extremely fortunate that he is coming to join us on this occasion. Demand for tickets is expected to be high and so do not leave contacting us about this until the last moment ! If you want to attend this event, please email Giles Martin at: gilesmrtn@aol.com The cost to attend is £25 per head (or £27.50 for non members) – this includes a meal etc. Please make a payment by Friday 10th November to the following account: Lloyds Bank Sort Code - 30: 96: 96 A/C No. - 00358115 We look forward to seeing you there – and feel free to invite a friend/colleague/partner etc. too who also might be interested.
