ANDREW MEREDITH, EDITOR, FARMERS WEEKLY Everyone has read the Farmers Weekly at some stage and it is the leading and most respected publication of its type in the UK. Andrew Meredith has been with the Farmers Weekly for 6 years and has been the Editor now for some 2 and half years. He is originally a graduate from the University of Aberystwyth. He is well known for his thoughtful and often hard hitting weekly “Editors Column”. Andrew has agreed to speak to us across a range of subjects that are highly pertinent to UK farming and farmers at the moment: • soaring input prices
• problems with the cost and availability of labour
• UK government policy towards farming and the reaction to the Agricultural Bill
• Issues of food security and safety
• customer and consumer demands for sustainable production and the role of regenerative agriculture
• the trend towards the use of new agri technology
• the impact of the situation in the Ukraine
• what does this mean for farmers and food companies based in the Thames Valley
• and what is the role of a publication such as Farmers Weekly in all of this
