Newbury Show 2023 NFU Deputy Tom Bradshaw & Dan Commentary

4.45pm - Tuesday 19th September 2023 2,580

We were delighted to support Newbury Show 2023. We worked tirelessly to bring equipment and demos to the show to do our part to support the new committee and Steve Ackrill and Steve Coventry. The showground was going to be sold off as a lorry park and the agricultural community have worked hard to put on a show. It was a huge success apart from the rain on Sunday.

Thank you for coming to see me those of you that had travelled far and wide. We really appreciate your support. Eleanor x

TIM FIELD - the Northeast Cotswold Farmer Cluster
What We Need To Do To Enhance
The Natural Capital of Our Land & Build Resilient Food and
Farming Businesses
Tim is the founder - facilitator of the Northeast Cotswold Farmer Cluster, a group of 145
farms covering 43,000 ha, with a common mission towards landscape-scale regeneration
of the farmed environment. He is not employed by Natural England, but co-ordinates the
knowledge exchange and project activities of the landowners involved, largely
supported by grants for groups of holdings. The Cluster is very much at the forefront of
collaborative working. It is governed by its farmer members and has autonomy as a
Community Interest Company.
He is Project Director of the Northeast Cotswold Landscape Recovery pilot project. With
a background in freshwater ecology, environmental consultancy and rural surveying, Tim
has delivered strategic environmental and infrastructure management of estates, farms,
and throughout the food supply chain, including 14 years working in the Northeast
Cotswolds as Group Head of Sustainability for Bamford, Daylesford and JCB farms.
Tim is also founder and board member of Agricology, a knowledge exchange platform
to disseminate best practice and research on practical, sustainable farming. And since
2021, Tim has been developing Carbon Quester, a partnership with the Rothamsted
Research Institute that provides cost-effective, rigorous soil organic carbon baseline
sampling at farm scale.
