Meanwhile back in the real world farming continues… as always, relentless in the cold weather. Temperatures are set to drop to -6 tonight and getting the animals deep bedded up with heat lamps in is an absolute priority, the calves are doing well. Poorly calf is battling on but still won’t drink at all so he’s on special measures. It’s pretty full on at the moment and the lurgy hit over new year but as it’s farming we didn’t have a choice but to carry on regardless. Had our wonderful friend June stay last night and got to bed at half 2 so today’s tiredness is self inflicted 😁😁 off to Shropshire Holstein club tomorrow for a talk about getting into dairy farming.
