Wynn is a NZ Huntaway and works very differently to a collie unless told to specifically he doesn’t seem to go round the outside of the sheep which is the natural place for a collie to be I’m currently working on him standing when I say, he has the general idea but if I let him run away for just a second he seems to go completely deaf. Thank god he’s a gentle dog and has never made contact with a sheep yet, he will now come back which was a massive issue at first but I do believe we let him run amuck because I didn’t have a clue at all about what I was doing. We go out every night for 15 mins just to keep him improving, these are the top lambs and actually are a really good bunch they don’t tend to run away and walk around together which is quite handy. I might get the round pens out again for more directions and improving him going right round them.🐃
