Brandon from Champion Seed came down to unload seed for the Cornstar Crew to test out. Brandon talks a little bit about who Champion Seed is and then he goes over the two varieties he brought out: 61A19 and 58A18. He tried showing me up by carrying more bags of corn than me so naturally, I had to one up him.

Brandon and I go over a few technical terms for all the non-farming viewers as well. The plans going forward with this seed is to take you guys on the seed's journey from being planted, all the way to harvest. Once the plant has matured, Brandon will come out and do yield checks, and when we harvest it we will do final yield checks. You guys will get to see the entire cycle of how we grow and sell the crop. We are going to be very transparent with this whole process.

For the sake of having something to compare it to, we will be comparing these two varieties to another popular brand of corn that is planted in the same field, on the same day, under the same conditions.

Cole The Cornstar, aka Cole, is a 4th generation family farmer from Central Iowa. Cole promotes agriculture by filming his day-to-day adventures with his Dad and brother on the farm. His vision is to teach people what goes on during day to day farm operations. Cole's mission is to prove the American Dream is not dead and be a megaphone for agricultural education and innovation, from technological advances in farming equipment to conservation practices.
