Daddy Cornstar is back, better than ever. To start the video he has a uh... interesting encounter with a hay bale. We finally got done spraying bean burn down. Once I got the Hagie STS10 brought home and the Freightliner loaded, I went to help Dad finish planting beans. I was keeping Dad full of seed while I hitchhiked a few laps around the field on the back of the White 6180 planter that was being pulled by our John Deere 4840.
We got done planting beans which meant it was time to wash up the sprayer again and switch over to spraying corn again. After the sprayer was washed, I went off to spray corn. However, the wind decided to pick up. In the mean time, we went and scouted some crops and decided which fields were ready to be sprayed. Later the night the wind calmed down and I was able to spray off half a load which I continued to put on in the morning. A small front came through the next morning and pushed me out of the field again.
Brandon from Champion Seed came down and scouted some crops with us. He shares some information about how corn grows once it is planted, how different soil types effect population, and why certain things happen to certain plants in the field. He taught Daddy Cornstar and I a lot of stuff.
Brandon left and the wind died down so we could go back to spraying corn. I sprayed for a short while and then another storm came through. I was forced out of the field due to the wind and had to quit for the day.
