It has was a very busy Easter weekend. Dad and Dalton got a lot of projects done while I was at school for the week. Our larger disk had a crack starting in the frame so we left it up to Dalton to fix the crack and he did a fantastic job. We had a lot of little run-around jobs here and there trying to get things prepared to run in the field.
The guy who was hauling 32% nitrogen showed up and he had 4,800 gallons of 32% to drop off for us. While we were unloading that I helped set up scaffolding around my house so that it can be ready for new siding and windows. I will have a series on the beautiful farm house repairs this summer. We got done with those odd-ball projects and then we ran over to the heated shop again, I started putting bearings back in the row cleaners for the planter, and Dalton and Dad switched tips in the sprayer.
Chemicals finally showed up and we were ready to get the show on the road. We filled the semi tanks with 32%, got the kinks worked out of the electric pump for the chemicals, and got to spraying. While I was running the sprayer, Dalton was running our vertical tillage implement, the reel disk, behind me. Once we got done for the day, I washed the sprayer and ran out of daylight to completely clean it.
Easter morning, Cooper wanted to mow the lawn, and I wanted to finish washing the sprayer. I washed the sprayer but was not able to soap it due to the wind. Once the sprayer was washed, I touched up a couple welds on the disk that needed repaired, and called it a day. Oh yeah, and I found a few Easter eggs after that.
While I was gone at school for the week, Dad and Dalton had two graves to dig and they were running around with their heads cut off most of the time. Dad finally started planting corn and we have been going steady since.
