Pastured Pig Rotation Explained

Move the pigs when they need to move. Sounds stupid simple right? Well it is. Without years of experience under my belt I just move the pigs when it is time to move the pigs. I check on them every day so I always know their status. When the ground looks beat up to a point where I deem a move necessary or if the manure is building up to a point where it's starting to stink, we move them.

A big "trick" to farming that often gets overlooked is observation. Take a moment to stop and look at what you are doing and how your plants/animals/insects are acting and they will tell you a lot.

How are they acting? What is causing that? What are the external factors that affect them?
