Farmers, don't make viral videos - do this instead...

11.23am - Friday 10th January 2025 660

What I love about agriculture is how interesting, fundamental, and beautiful it is. Beautiful moments and good stories abound, it's up to you to capture those moments and share them with your audience/customers.

Where we get tripped up is in getting advice from internet "gurus" on how to make a video go viral. I'm here to say that you don't have to go viral to a big audience, because that is generally not going to help you.

Instead, focus on your local community, and use the social media platforms as a way to host and share videos. Don't rely on their algorithms to reach people, but instead build your personal relationships and use the links to your videos, blog posts, or whatever content you have created, and then send that link to people.

This is a foundational technique. A little tidbit of the larger marketing effort you are doing for your small business. I'm here to let you know that marketing can be fun, approachable, and impactful if you do it right. And, you don't have to break the bank.
