We have trained all the trees in our orchard so that they have better structure in the years to come. Some of the trees I wish we had gotten to last year and others we timed perfectly. At the end of the day we did the best we could.

There are all types of products for doing this and different methods. This one went fairly fast for us and was fairly cheap. Using common materials also meant that when we ran out it was easy to get more because I could buy them locally versus ordering them special.

We will leave them on and trained for 3-4 weeks and take them all off mid-August. Then we'll keep an eye on them, see how they grow, and iterate on our system.
