Knife setting can be oddly satisfying… until you’re doing it under pressure, with rain coming, fields being mowed early, and a very real chance your test run is about to disappear.

The knives were weighed, swapped, balanced and rebalanced.
The shear bar was set.
Clearances checked.
Sharpening dialled in.
Eight hours of fiddly adjustments, arguments over grease and WD-40, and a constant eye on the weather — all to get this harvester ready before the last field was gone.

And just when everything was finally lining up… a bolt let go, and that was the end of the job for today.

This is Part 7 of Project Harvester — a full day in The Shed, chasing a grass deadline, learning lessons the hard way, and being reminded that this old harvester has a sense of humour of its own.
