With the header finally off, it was time to pull the knives and bolts off the drum… and it didn’t take long to spot something the boys weren't expecting... every single knife was bent like a banana.

What should’ve been a straightforward strip-down turned into another round of seized bolts, stretched bolts, wrong bolts, missing bolts, and plenty of debate about technique, leverage, WD-40, and who definitely wasn’t doing it right.

The deeper we went, the more obvious it became that the drum, shear bar and the whole setup are going to need a good cleanup and with a growing list of parts, tools and jobs, there was only one place to go next — DW Toolshop.

A quick run for supplies turned into looking at welders, toolboxes, grinders, and anything else that might make this restoration slightly less painful.
