Today we moved on to the feed roller assembly… and it very quickly turned into another battle of seized bolts, stuck pins, cracked carriers and old welds.

With a fresh collection of tools, torque wrenches and grinders, the knives were cleaned and checked before we started stripping the feed rollers.. What followed was a mix of heat, hammers, pry bars, adjustable spanners (that shouldn’t be used), with plenty of head-scratching over how some of these parts were ever meant to come apart.

By the end of the day we’d loosened some things, freed others, bent a few we didn’t mean to, and added even more parts to the shopping list.

This is Part 5 of Project Harvester — stripping the feed rollers, finding surprises, and accepting we’ll be here longer than planned.
