A YouTube commenter called us out… and it turns out he was absolutely right.

While working on the tractor brakes in the workshop, one sharp-eyed viewer spotted that we’d fitted the brake shoe springs the wrong way around. Instead of holding the shoes tight against the backplate, they were actually pulling them out - which might explain why the brakes were a bit sticky.

So in this episode we pull the brakes apart again, flip the springs the right way round, and see if that solves the problem.

Of course, because no workshop job ever happens quietly around here, we also end up watching a live tractor auction while we work - with a John Deere 7530, two 7810's, a couple of Mercedes MB Tracs and a Case 5150 going for absolutely mental money.
