These calves were released to pasture two weeks after this video was taken, once we were aware that they were without diseases. Chaining prevents social interaction during their susceptible phase following trailer sickness.

Travis and I go to the sales barn to get some more calves. Calf health is the #1 priority for farmers. We've found using chains allows calves more space than tight pens, while still keeping some separation between them while maximizing airflow through the bedding.
