The day started slow with thunderstorms in the morning, so harvesting didn’t seem like an option. We waited it out and kept watching the radar, and by noon the skies finally opened up enough for us to head to the fields. Once we got out there, it turned into one of those classic mid-season days, checking machines, topping off fuel, and, as Dad always says, remembering that “greasing is a way of life on the farm.”
The afternoon settled into a good rhythm. The fields dried quicker than we expected, the combines ran steadily, and the hours went by in that quiet, satisfying way they do during harvest.
By evening, the whole sky shifted into a big Montana sunset, orange, pink, and stretching forever over the stubble. We wrapped up, headed home dusty and tired, and ended the night with family time, the kind that feels even better after a long day in the field.

My Story:

Hello, I’m Kate Stephens, a 21-year-old 4th generation farmer from Montana. My family's roots in farming run deep, stretching back to 1912 when my great-grandfather emigrated from Denmark and began cultivating the land we still work today. Farming has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember; I started learning the ropes at just two years old and now operate one of our combines during harvest. I believe in the importance of understanding where our food comes from, and I hope to share that knowledge in a fun and engaging way through my YouTube videos and products. Kate’s Ag is more than just a brand—it's an extension of our farm, a celebration of the grains we've been growing to feed families for over a century.
