Planting and Rolling Chickpeas Preparation 2022 Montana
In today's video, we are preparing the calibration of the drills to plant Chickpeas on our Montana Farm. Darcy is driving the John Deere tractor and seeding drill. I'm going to drive the John Deere tractor and Flexi-Coil seeding drill, which is still being serviced. Austin and I take the new John Deere tractor with the PTO (power take-off) to hook up the big roller. After planting Chickpeas we roll the ground so that it is level and any rocks won't harm the harvester in August. I show Austin how to drive the new John Deere tractor. There are some great discussions and even though it is super windy again, the big sky in Montana is beautiful!!!! Uncle Chris shows me how to set up the big roller and that is very interesting too. Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 17-year-old 4th generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality.
