ONE Billion Lentils on 1,000 ACRES
In today's video, I will show you what it takes to plant and roll ONE Billion lentils on 1,000 acres of our Montana farm. Uncle Chris and I talk about some fun family stories while rolling the lentil fields. The big sky is beautiful. Darcy and I talk about planting lentils and some planting secrets. Our big John Deere Tractors are hard at work today. This is real farming, not a simulator! There is a lot of horsepower in our big fields! Our John Deere seeder is a workhorse. Darcy seeds the lentils and Uncle Chris goes over them with a roller to push down any rocks so that our combine headers don't hit them at harvest. There is a lot of work that goes on at our family farm. We explain why we don't have brand new equipment. We are not fancy, we are century farmers that plan on farming for another century. Uncle Chris shares a funny story about Grandpa's Christmas gift to him so he won't be so embarrassed moving equipment miles and miles to different parts of our farm. Our big giants are hard at work to make sure we get our billion lentils in the ground this spring 2020. I hope you enjoy my video and thank you for watching!

My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 16-year-old 4th generation farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate’s Ag became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
