Montana Harvest Combine Etiquette Part One 2020 | Kate's Ag Farm to Fashion
In this video I talk about the importance of combine etiquette in order to keep an operation running smoothly. Combine etiquette includes radio conversations, what to wear on a combine, manners, and respect. I also talk about why combine etiquette keeps the farming operation going. Today is another day of Montana wheat harvest on our century farm. We are still using the pick up headers to harvest the swathed wheat. You will be able to see a dump into the grain cart on the go. We are on the same field as the last video. I show the other two combines picking up the wheat. There is never a dull moment at harvest. You will be able to hear radio conversations from different people in our operation. I hope you enjoy learning why combine etiquette is very important and what harvest is like on our Montana farm.

My Story... Hello. My name is Kate Stephens and I am a 16-year-old 4th generation farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was 2 years old. Until recently the wheat we grow has been taller than me. My grandfather is 93 and he is the best mentor ever. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm and I decided that the amazing photos I take at harvest of our wheat and barley could make fabulous, exciting designs for fashion and accessories. That is how Kate’s Ag – Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my handbag as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
