We had local 5th graders out to the farm to 'glean' the potato field! A local organization, 6:8 helped coordinate the trip, which brought the kids out the field to collect the potatoes the harvester left in the field which they get to take home. All the extras were then donated to a local food pantry! Some kids even thought it was the best field trip they had ever been on - lol. Of course we can't leave out some farmer - so Emily hopped in with Avery while he GPS mapped a field to see how many acres were chopped.
