It’s one of those “if it can go wrong, it will” kind of days.
Emily’s starting the day in the calf barn, getting new calves settled in, while the rest of the crew’s running a convoy down the road to the next field. Everything’s rolling smooth… until Avery’s soybean head breaks.
With it officially down for the rest of harvest, Avery hops in the grain cart while Mason keeps cutting beans 45 feet at a time. With a little extra time, Avery and Emily decide to grab the Smart Drop Pan from Bushel Plus to check how well the combine’s performing - and the results? Not great. We were losing about .55 bushels per acre, which means almost $80 in lost beans in this field alone. All cracked beans too… so now it’s time to troubleshoot!
