With the oats finished, the main harvest is all but done, and only the mustard is left to cut. In this episode the team finally earns a well deserved rest after a relentless, rain free run, and we start to turn our attention to next season. We head into the seed shed to explain how producing our own seed saves the business around £200,000 a year, and get the ground and the plan ready for drilling this year's oilseed rape.

There is a real sense of gearing up for what comes next. Two new 18 metre drills are being built and are already on their way, a new cultivator joins the fleet, and the new fertiliser yard is nearly finished. We also stay on top of the jobs that never stop, from a run of tyre failures and the search for a fix, to welcoming a new horse to the farm.

We finish, as ever, with an honest look at the grain market, where the prices are still not telling the story this difficult year deserves.

From a major money saver to the first signs of next season, this is another look behind the scenes of a modern farming business.
