We visit our first working farm in Brazil, joining Bruno from the Reinhofer Group for a tour of a truly impressive operation.

From maize fields to soybean harvest, this episode gives a real look at how large-scale Brazilian farming works. We explore the soils that drive their cropping system, learn how crop rotations operate in this part of the world, and see how haulage and logistics are managed across huge acreages.

James climbs into the combine during the maize harvest, we watch lime application in action, and take a closer look at the huge machinery used to manage farming at this scale. The tour also reveals something unexpected, the farm’s own hydroelectric facility, generating power directly from the land.

Alongside this, Bruno shows how they manufacture their own nutrients on farm and explains the systems that keep such a large operation running efficiently.

This is a fascinating insight into Brazilian agriculture and how it compares with farming systems elsewhere around the world.
