Spring continues to move quickly as we review crop progress across the farm and take a closer look at how fertiliser applications are influencing plant development.
The first wheats are looking encouraging, oat crops are progressing well, and we assess the impact of liquid nitrogen alongside wider fertiliser trials taking place across the farm. We also examine the effects of ploughing on soil structure and how weeds respond when crop competition is reduced.
Alongside agronomy updates, we prepare machinery for the season ahead, including putting the sprayers onto summer tyres, refreshing the fuel bowser and servicing the new van. Work also continues around the yard with levelling, grass cutting and tidying ongoing following recent improvements.
We also revisit the archaeological dig sites and assess their impact on land management, while continuing wider infrastructure work across the business.
