Rainy days don’t stop the work — they just move it into the shop.

Today we’re unloading oil totes, picking up more used oil for heat, getting our side-by-side back (hopefully fixed this time), and cleaning and servicing one of our loaders to get ready for manure season.

But the big topic in this video… we’re looking at losing around $2.5 million on last year’s potato crop. That’s farming right now. So we’ve made the decision to spread 50,000 sacks of eliminator potatoes back onto the fields as fertilizer. At about $1 per sack in nutrient value, it could save us roughly $50,000 in commercial fertilizer this spring.

We also talk a little about the history of our family farm — started in 1944 — and how it’s structured today.
