Everything is finally running! After a week of fixing, wiring, and setting up all the new Spudnik cellar equipment, the conveyors, pilers, and chains are all moving like they should. It’s always a huge relief when the system just works — no tripped breakers, no jammed belts, no burnt motors — just smooth potato flow. In this video, I’m taking you behind the scenes as we move everything from one potato cellar to another, unload trucks, and get millions of pounds of potatoes stacked and stored for the season.
You’ll see the full process of how we keep everything running in sync — from the harvester in the field to the pilers in the cellar. It’s a tight operation that takes timing, teamwork, and a lot of troubleshooting when things go wrong. But when it all comes together like this, it’s one of the most satisfying parts of the job.
This is a big part of the potato harvest that most people never get to see — the cellar setup, the endless conveyor lines, the constant maintenance, and the coordination it takes to move potatoes efficiently without stopping. If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to move thousands of tons of spuds behind the scenes, this video is for you.
We’ve been working around the clock to get everything ready for this point, and it finally feels like the long hours are paying off. There’s still a lot of work ahead, but for now, things are rolling smooth — and that’s all you can ask for during harvest.
