We finally made it to the end… but not without hitting a nasty surprise 🤢

Today we’re finishing up cleaning out the potato cellar after hauling out around 50,000 sacks—and right when we thought we were in the clear, we found a rotten patch buried in the pile. Let me tell you… it was BAD. Black, mushy, and smelled worse than anything we’ve dealt with in a while.

We pushed through it, got the last of the potatoes loaded, and officially emptied the cellar for the first time like this. This was a big job and honestly not one I want to do again anytime soon—but it feels good to have it done and move on to the next thing.

Meanwhile, the rest of the crew is out working ground, planting wheat, and trying to stay ahead of this crazy weather. 70–80° days in March?? Not complaining, but definitely unusual.

After getting the cellar cleaned out, it’s straight into hauling manure… and of course, that means bearings going out, twine wrapping everything up, and more wrenching in the shop.

Just another day on the farm.
