Today’s video spans 2 days and shows the start of 2026 Maize harvest for a customer in Exeter. Will is chopping in the John Deere 9700i forage harvester with a mixture of Fendt, John Deere and New Holland tractors hauling the maize silage back to the farm.
We have our first breakdown of the season as a patio slab goes into the header but we get it fixed and straightened pretty quickly and get back going again.

We catch up with Harry in the 8R370 rolling in grass seeds after Steve has drilled them with the 8R410 and Horsch focus seed drill.

On Tuesday we check our maize crop for its maturity so we can plan when to make our start. The rain that is now falling may delay us starting after not falling all summer!

Tuesday afternoon sees us fix a couple of dodgy bearings on the drill before more grass seeds are drilled in the coming weeks.
