I’m Direct Drilling My Maize Crop This Year!

5.00pm - Thursday 27th October 2022 22,005

Spring has been challenging weather wise and my maize is getting planted a little bit later than usual.
But I have changed my mind, I am drilling 50/50 strip till and direct drill, mostly as a trial to see what the difference in yield is.
Darcy has brought this new maize planter which does such a great job!

Hey I’m Andrew The Once A Day Farmer, I farm alongside my father on my family dairy farm in New Zealand.
Our Dairy system is quite unique as we only milk our 320 jersey cows Once A Day (hence the name), and they stay outside on grass for 365 days of the year!!
