The start of calving date is the 17th of July so we are officially underway and are currently milking around 20 cows that have calved in the last week.
Today we head to the calving mobs to check how many cows have calved over night.

I’m Andrew The Once A Day Farmer, I farm alongside my father on my family dairy farm in New Zealand.
Our Dairy system is quite unique as we milk our 320 jersey cows 'Once A Day' (hence the name) only in the morning, and they stay outside on grass for 365 days of the year!!
