Summer Is Starting To Bite, Have I Conserved Enough Maize Silage?

5.00pm - Monday 10th January 2022 18,428

I've started extending my grazing rotation as the lack of rain in the last 3 weeks is forcing me to feed more supplements to meet the cows demands.
Since September I have been trying to conserve the maize silage for this exact reason, but will I have enough?

I’m Andrew The Once A Day Farmer, I farm alongside my father on my family dairy farm in New Zealand.
Our Dairy system is quite unique as we only milk our 320 jersey cows 'Once A Day' (hence the name) only in the morning, and they stay outside on grass for 365 days of the year!!
