In this video I am joined for a days shearing by Rosie Keenan.
Rosie won the silver medal at the World Shearing and Wool Handling championship in Le Dorat, France in 2019 which was an incredible achievement. She was against the best wool handlers from all over the world with each nation bringing their two best Wool handlers to the competition.
Rosie has travelled the world with her job and, at just 25 years old, has shown she can compete at the highest level.
I am not a wool handling expert but I have done my best to highlight the key points that make a good wool handler for day-to-day shearing.
Competitive wool handling has a lot of aspects and judged elements I do not understand and would be over complicated for the general viewer.
Rosie does a great job explaining how she handles wool here in Scotland.
