Last weekend, Rhonda and I went to the Windows Dino Day in Cumbria. Paul Winder has been a regular on Wardy’s waffle collecting Straw. A few years ago his eldest daughter was diagnosed with type one diabetes and ever since then they raised awareness of what this is like for children by organising charity events. We attended this very worthwhile cause and learnt how Katie is managing the diabetes with ever improving technology. We stayed a few days in Cumbria and as ever loved the area and the scenery. If you’d like to donate, these are the bank details:
Acc name: Amie-Louise Winder
Acc number: 83268684
Sort code: 20-27-28
Have you ever wondered what happens to all the waste oil from engines all around the UK? We had 2,400 litres collected by a Lincoln company and was very surprised where it ends up!
Next weekend we are collecting more Poultry muck from the nearby Farm but needed to clear soil from the concrete area ready to store it. So because I still I’m not driving a tractor or anything Barry came to deal with this.
Rhonda and I were extremely honoured to be invited to the opening ceremony of On Freedoms Wings, the life size metal sculpture of a Lancaster bomber which crashed on the edge of Lincoln in 1942. It was a very moving day and I give an insight and a glimpse of what the crew went through and why this life size metal sculpture has been built for all to see on the edge of the A46 heading from Newark to Lincoln. I will be doing a whole update next week dedicated to the opening and hearing a full account of Lancaster R5689 VN-N and why it crashed in 1942.
Most of you will remember we hosted the cereal event last year, one of the fields which had all the Crop plot and Sprayers Arena is now showing various weeds in the wheat Crop planted after the event. So I go with Max in the Agrifac sprayer to patch spray the weeds which is no easy job as you’ll see. While in the sprayer as passenger, I get a great view of some of our wheat crops while driving down the road and I walk in one of these and give an update on growth and when the next fungicide will be.
