It's time to think about planting wheat for harvest 2025 but we first need to prepare the seed to be planted. In this update Agrii bring their mobile seed cleaning unit to the farm, this is based in an articulated lorry trailer. Its a state of the art cleaning plant costing around £250,000. This takes out all the small grain, chaff, straw and any thing else which is not suitable to be planted. Then the seed is coated with a chemical to help it against disease and give the plant the best start.
We have also been asked by S & K Sprayers from Lincolnshire to test their new sprayer designed for ATV's and buggies. This is a small unit which fits in the back of the load deck and has an 8m boom, individual nozzle control and Trimble gps system to control it. It's the only one of its kind and Simon Kitchen from S & K Sprayers talks through what its capable of and how this technology is available on bigger sprayers.
