7.00am - Sunday 14th September 2025 18,469

Never was so much owed to so many by so few was a favourite Winston Churchill quote relating to World War II.

The Lancaster bomber played a pivotal role in the success of the RAF and Lincolnshire’s airfields were fundamental to this.

Bomber County Gateway Trust was set up 8 years ago to build a replica life-size Lancaster. The cost has been approximately £1 million and many individuals and companies have been extremely generous in helping the project to completion.

This video covers the delivery of the plane with five lorries escorted by the police from where it was manufactured in North Lincolnshire to its final home near Norton disney. Over two days this fantastic life-size replica was put up with cranes and equipment and peoples time for free.
