The first of this years sugar beet is loaded and delivered into British Sugar at Newark. It’s put over a cleaner loader belonging to the haulier, a local farmer and one of my cousins. We had to tip the beet on the field due to our concrete beet pad being full of road planings from the A17 when it was re surfaced a year ago.

We are also spreading sewage sludge from Severn Trent, this is on the fields coming sugar beet next year.

Tom is subsoiling the beet fields we lifted a couple of weeks ago because the solo didn’t loosen it enough deep down. We need to do this to alleviate the compaction from last winter.
