Time To Wean Calves Early & Bring Cows Home - Drought 2026

9.00pm - Tuesday 29th September 2026 7,483

Fall on the family farm means we get into weaning season and hauling cows home from grass. Unfortunately, this is happening much earlier than normal. Well over a month ahead on weaning and pulling cows home 45-60 days early. Sad, but that was the reality of our dry summer. Grass is gone and they need feed, so headed home!

🔔 Subscribe to @thatfitagvocate for more updates on our farm. From calving season to raising healthy cattle that become the beef and byproducts you use daily, we share every part of the farming experience, including the tough moments that come with it.

As a farmer's daughter, I’ll take you behind the scenes of what it’s like to be part of this journey and show you the entire journey and all the work that goes into raising and selling beef cattle. From calving season to weaning to shipping cattle to the packer -- you'll see it all throughout the year!
