How do you know if a raccoon was in your chicken coop?

You walk out to the bird coop to feed your chickens and your pigeons, only to find your pigeons DEAD EVERYWHERE! All of your favorites, GONE. Your best birds, GONE. Birds you had 15 years, GONE. Just five lone soles left somehow. And the chickens UNTOUCHED!

With no outside holes in the cage, how did it get in? Wss it really a raccoon, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?!
