Wheat harvest is officially underway! We pick up our new Fendt combine after winter service, only to have a tire fall off on the way back to the farm. After getting that fixed, we finally make it to the field and start cutting.

The new combine is running great, and the wheat is yielding better than expected — around 150–160 bushels per acre! We battle a few header plugging issues, keep the grain cart and semis moving, and finish up our first field of the season.

It’s going to be a busy harvest with nearly 2,500 acres of wheat to get through. Let’s get this harvest season started!
